“I’m sorry, too. I hate this so much, us not talk, us fighting. We don’t do this.” He nodded his slowly, swallowing the lump that had formed in the back of his throat. “The way I seen it was if we left the machine there, we were all gonna end up dead anyway. I know what you meant, Bry. They were your your friends, I know why you wanted to save them.” He and the other delinquents had spent the last six months making had decisions and sacrifices, so he just thought this was another one of those time where they had to make a hard sacrifice in order for them to survive. He just wanted this all to be over and for them to go back to the way they were before the Pike situation and before all the fighting and arguing started.

Bryan bit his lip hard, because Miller was right. This wasn’t like them, and he hated it. They had never fought like this before; hell they’d made it through so much, even being on opposite sides with Pike, they couldn’t let this be different. He took a shaky breath, shaking his head a little as he listened to Miller speak. “I just…” His voice cracked and he looked at the ground, afraid and unsure what the older boy would think about him starting to cry. “I had to try and save them, Nate… I-I… If I could, I had to, I just… I couldn’t save my mom, or my dad, or Iris, or Pike or…” His voice broke now and he let out a sob, moving his hands to hide his face, trying to make it stop.

( sms; Bryan ) Hey, it’s different, I’ve not had this kind of welcome to the building before.

( sms; Bryan )

It’s not the worst impression

( sms; Bryan )  It’s not everyday someone send me a nudey to say hello, especially someone I don’t really know.

[Text: Miller] … I mean, I would hope not, because I’d be a little concerned if people were actually doing that???
[Text: Miller] But not the best either.
[Text: Miller] It wasn’t really to say hello, but still. Maybe we could get to know each other? Make it somehow less awkward?

betterthaanhim:

( sms; Bryan ) Yeah, now that you mention it, I suppose it’s not the best thing to send to your friends roommate.

( sms; Bryan ) I’m sure it could be worse, though

( sms; Bryan ) I mean, at least you can say you left an impression, right?

[Text: Miller] Totally not the way to make friends with anyone. I’m an idiot.
[Text: Miller] I don’t want to imagine something worse though, oh my god
[Text: Miller] But a bad impression probably?

betterthaanhim:

( sms; Bryan ) oh my god, you’re adorable.

( sms; Bryan )

As far as nudies go, yeah, it’s really nice.

( sms; Bryan ) you’re apologising like you’ve done the worst thing imaginable.

[Text: Miller] Adorable, huh? Well, thank you.
[Text: Miller] I’ve never actually sent nudes before, so uh, I’ll keep that in mind?
[Text: Miller] Sending nudes to your friends new roommate sounds like a pretty bad thing, especially considering we don’t really know each other yet.
[Text: Miller] And the fact that you’re kinda hot and {UNSENT}

Nathan sighed, just continuing to follow the Farm station boy, Bryan was stubborn, but Nathan was so much more stubborn, he wasn’t just going to walk away. “Bryan, would just stop for a second, please!” He let out a frustrated groan, moving in front of him. “What is it that you think I’ve done, huh? You’re the one not talking to me, you’re the one being so god darn stubborn and acting like a child by not talking to me and taking tantrums.” He shook his head, his eyes never leaving Bryan’s face.

Bryan stopped as Nathan moved in front of him, taking a shaky breath and just narrowing his eyes at the older boy. “I am not throwing a tantrum!” He snapped at him, clenching his hands into fists to try and hide just how badly they were shaking. “You don’t get it, Nate! You don’t get how important it was to me to save them! And yeah, it doesn’t matter now because Riley made his choice and whatever, but… You don’t get it…” His voice cracked and he shook his head, refusing to look at the other, tears starting to well and roll down his cheeks.

Breathing out a heavy sigh, Bryan sat the box down that contained his and Miller’s belongings, next to the bunk they’d gotten. It was small and it was going to be a shared room, but they couldn’t be choosy, considering they’d managed to be two of the just one hundred from Skaikru that were being allowed in the bunker. They were going to be safe; if one could call being stuck in a bunker with a ton of grounders safe, of course. Bryan was going to have to learn to hold his tongue, or not feel terrified every time he walked anywhere.

He’d been focused on worrying, that he didn’t realize someone else had entered the room. It was only when he felt arms suddenly around his waist and a chin on his shoulder that he startled back into reality and then calmed at realizing that it was Nate. He carefully turned himself in the older boy’s arms, facing him and wrapping his arms around him in return. “… Hey,” He whispered out softly, moving his hands to cup the other’s cheeks.

He knew that his boyfriend was upset still; they were safe, but the other’s father wasn’t. Bryan felt horrible about it, but there was nothing they could do now. All he could do was focus on trying to keep Nate happy and focused on something other than losing his father; Bryan had lost his own in Ice Nation, he knew how bad it could be to think about it. “I love you,” He whispered out softly, leaning forward to gently place a kiss on the other’s lips.

“Bry, come on, don’t be like this.” Nathan sighed, quickly following behind Bryan, not letting the other just walk away. “You can’t just keep ignoring me like this, we have to share a bunker for five fucking years, just stop and talk to me. Please.” They’d been through far too much together, we hasn’t going to just give up on them so easily.

Bryan clenched his fists, trying to ignore Nathan as he continued to walk away from him; the other was persistent though, he’d give him that. “Don’t be like what?” He finally snapped out, stopping and turning to face him, “You don’t think I can ignore you for five years? Especially after what you did? Try me, Nate. Because I can do it.” He glared at the other boy, though knew that the way his chin was wobbling would give away that he was more upset than angry at the other.

Nate was exhausted to say the least, between what felt like never ending classes and helping his father out he thought the day would never end, the only thing that was getting Miller going was the fact that he would get to spend some time with Bryan again. Hearing the door being knocked, David made his was to the toward and opening it, a soft smile resting on the elders lips. “Bryan, come in.” David gave the younger male, as he took a step backwards to let Bryan in. “Nate, Bryan’s here.” Miller heard his father calling, before he was making his way out of his room, almost tripping how fast he was going. “Uh, hey.” He greeted, grin forming on his lips. “I’ll leave you two to it.” Once his father had left them alone, Nathan leaned in, stealing a quick kiss from his boyfriend, his hands cupping the others cheeks.

Bryan smiled widely at the older man, stepping inside the room with a slight bounce. He waited patiently for his boyfriend to appear, though he was sure that Mr. Miller was used to him going to practically tackle Nathan in a hug by this point, he figured he’d be polite today. He grinned even more when the other finally appeared, chuckling softly at him. He was about to speak in reply when he found himself being kissed.

Chuckling, he put his hands on Nathan’s shoulders, returning the kiss gently and nuzzling a little into the other’s hands. “Hey,” He whispered out softly in return, “I missed you today. The sweater I was working on with mom wasn’t coming out right, and it felt like it took forever.”

God, he wished he hadn’t said anything, he wished he had just said what Bryan needed to hear, then they wouldn’t be in this situation, they didn’t fight, this wasn’t like them. He’d been sitting in their room for god knows how long, just waiting, hoping Bryan would come back, he hated how they left things. He couldn’t just sit here, feeling sorry for himself, he had to do something. The Arkadia guard pulled himself from the sofa, making his way over to grab his armour, and pulling it on. “Bry,” He froze, glancing across the room seeing and hearing his boyfriend, his head nodding, as he moved towards the other, coming to a stop at the bottom of the bed. “Uh, yeah, I think we should talk. I was just getting ready to come find you.” Miller spoke, taking steps towards the other, stopping once again when he was mere inches from Bryan.

image

Bryan paused at seeing Nathan coming towards him, seeing the others jacket on; his heart pounding at the thought of the other maybe having been going to leave the room so as not to see him. But the others words about coming to find him were reassuring and he took a shaky breath, nodding his head a little. He stayed quiet, watching as Miller closed the gap between them, closing the space to mere inches that still felt way too far away. Bryan didn’t move to imediatly close the gap more though.

“… I’m sorry,” He spoke up softly, “I’m sorry for walking away like that, I shouldn’t have. I shouldn’t have just brushed you off like that, I just…” He bit his lip sharply, looking at the ground, “It just… We had to save our people, Nate. We couldn’t just leave them there, not when we actually had a chance to get them out…” He looked up, desperate for the other to understand what he meant.
