An eyebrow rose slowly as he watched Bryan, checking him over before shaking his head once. Bryan had never been part of the skybox. But Nathan had talked about him enough times that Murphy felt like he knew him ( if only a little bit ). But all the shit that was currently happening in the camp? It was bullshit if one asked him… Things only seemed to become more complicated after part of the Ark had came crashing down to earth… A hand rose to rub past his nose, a contemplative glint in his eyes as he gazed at Bryan before he finally gave a slow nod. “ Rhetorically speaking. ” he repeated, amusement now CLEAR in his voice as he gazed at the other and FINALLY allowed a laugh to rip through the air, his hand slamming against Bryan’s shoulder twice. “ And now ya got yourself a shiner. Congrats, Bryan. Don’t let Miller see it, he might end up punching someone’s lights out. ”
Bryan watched Murphy, and he could easily see the amusement on the older boy’s face. Of course he was amused, Bryan was sure that if it wasn’t him telling the story, he’d be amused as well. As it was, he didn’t want to admit just what a jerk he’d been, nor that he’d deserved the punch in the face. He was still struggling between that kind boy from the Ark and the hardened boy that parroted what Pike said about the grounders after the hardships they’d faced from them. He blinked though, as Murphy’s laugh and hand landing on his shoulder startled him. “… I don’t know about that,” He retorted faintly, “I mean, if I said what I said… then I may have probably deserved it. But it’s not like it wasn’t exactly true… The grounders here are kinda jerks.”
Bryan looked up as the door to their room opened, tilting his head a little at seeing Miller already stripping his guard jacket off and making his way towards the bed. Concern appeared on his features and he got up from the desk where he’d been writing, quickly moving to crawl onto the bed with his boyfriend and wrap his arms around him.
“Of course,” he stated gently, kissing Nate’s cheek and cuddling up against his side, resting his chin on the older boy’s shoulder. “… Do you want to tell me what happened, or would you just like to curl up in quiet?” He nuzzled him a little, “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. I’m sorry that you had a bad day.”
Bryan had gone to the party in hopes of getting Nate’s attention. They had some mutual friends, and had hung around each other, but had never really interacted much on their own. Still, Nate had caught Bryan’s eye and the boy couldn’t help but be smitten with the older boy. If only he could get his attention, maybe he could work up the courage to talk to him more.
The alcohol had been flowing, the Blake apartment full of their friends and friends of friends, everyone having a great time and lots of laughter and noise. Bryan had a cup in hand, though it only had water in it. The last thing he wanted to do was get drunk and make a fool of himself in front of everyone, especially his crush. He could only imagine what would happen then.
Wandering towards the kitchen again, Bryan was shocked to find himself suddenly pressed up against the wall, hands holding his shoulders firmly in place, and lips on his. His eyes were wide with surprise at seeing Nate was the one kissing him, and for a second he let himself relax and start to kiss back, only stopping at tasting the alcohol on Nate’s lips.
“S-stop,” He managed out shakily, turning his head to break the kiss and pushing Nate away from him. “Don’t, Not… not when you’re drunk. I don’t want you to regret this,” He stated faintly, “Please don’t..”
Bryan glanced over from the other side of the sofa, raising an eyebrow in Garrett’s direction. “I mean… it doesn’t have to have a label or anything unless you want it to, right? We’re just… enjoying each other’s company. We don’t have to know what exactly it means. Being unsure is just..” He shrugged his shoulders then, feeling a little unsure himself, about what exactly to say.
In truth, the last thing he wanted was the older man to be unsure about how he felt about them and what they were doing. He didn’t want the other to question it, or maybe change his mind about them spending time together. But he didn’t want to force him or make him feel guilty about it either; he didn’t want to end up pushing him away or something.
“How about… we just focus on the here and now? Finish this movie and..” He shifted on the couch to lean closer to the older man, gently kissing his cheek, “Just relax?”
Bryan looked up, startled at hearing the familiar voice and bit his lip sharply at seeing her standing there. He knew that he wasn’t one to be drinking, wasn’t one to normally even be at a bar, let alone with a drink in hand from his fake ID. But how had his friend known? Did she just happy to show up at the same place at the same time? Or–
“I got a phone call that you were here.”
Or someone had called her. Bryan absently wandered who was spying on him and had told Mandy, but then again, maybe whoever it had been was really worried and knew this was out of the ordinary for Bryan. That’d worry anyone, right? He took a deep breath and looked at the glass in his hand for a long moment, before lifting it up and taking a swig to down what was left.
“He cheated,” He managed out after a long moment, “Not once, but twice. I found out because Nate told me he’d seen him with a mutual friend of ours. I’m trying to get up the courage to go confront him about it..” He let out a weak chuckle then, glancing back up at her, “I don’t think it’s working though.”
One year. One Year.
I can’t believe that it’s already been a year that I’ve had this blog.
Just a little over a year ago, I was a newbie to The 100 fandom; not new to the show, but to the fandom on tumblr. I went looking for some place to play Bryan, my newest love. I found a group of amazing people, who encouraged me to make an indie blog for him, just a couple months later. October 10th, 2016 at 8:30 pm, this blog got it’s first post, and although there have been a couple of times that I’ve either had a muse too quiet to write, or disappeared for a month or so because life has gotten difficult, I’ve never given up on being here or giving Bryan the voice that his character so deserves.
I’m so grateful for everyone that I follow and everyone that follows me. It’s so wonderful to know that even if the show has forgotten about him, even if it doesn’t seem he has any friends on the show, or no one seems to think so, at least he’s made friends enough on here and has people that care about him and love him. I wouldn’t be here without all of you, giving my boy the friends he needs so much, and the family he’s desperately in need of. You all mean the world to Bryan and I, and you have no idea how happy my muse is when people interact with him and when people remember that he’s here and a character on the show, or include him in things.
I was going to do individual things, but I’m honestly awful at it and I feel like I’d end up leaving someone out or forgetting something and I would hate for that to happen, and you guys are all so super important to me that I wouldn’t even know where to begin in letting you all know that. There are so many things I want to say, but only so many ways I can describe how wonderful, amazing, and inspiring each of you are to my muse and I. Just know that if I follow you, Bryan and I both adore you to pieces and want to have all the threads with you, always. You guys are awesome, and I hope that you all know that.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, and from the bottom of Bryan’s heart, for following, for writing with us, for putting up with us for the past year, and here’s to a long time to come with us being here and keeping Bryan’s voice going. Thank you, again, so much.
