“Yeah. I wonder how…” He wanted to ask how long that would last for. He wasn’t sure they would continue to follow Octavia when things got difficult like they inevitably would. Bryan had enough on his mind though so he refrained, continuing in a different direction instead. “How they’re going to teach the grounders to help run this place. Grounders and tech? Engineering?” He laughed to himself, breath hitting Bryan’s neck. Grounders and science were like oil and water.

Bryan tilted his head against Murphy’s a little when the other started to speak, wondering what he was going to say. He almost thought the other was going to say something about the grounders following Octavia or something, but at the question he actually asked, Bryan relaxed and laughed a little as well. “I don’t know, that’s a good question,” He stated softly, “I know that they seemed a little put off with the tech for the farm and all, but… I guess they’ll have to learn, or just get out of the way so we can do it, right?”

“i mean, you and me in this bed all day, all on our, it’s gonna be a challenge,” he paused, arms wrapping around his boyfriends waist, pulling his body in close to his own, as he kissed the other back ever so gently. “but you know me, i’m always up for a challenge.”

“Oh, a challenge huh?” Bryan quirked an eyebrow at his boyfriend, grinning lightly as he was pulled closer, and humming at the returned kiss. “Well, I’d hoped you’d say that. Otherwise I’d be a little sad. I’m sure this is one challenge that you’ll manage perfectly, right?” He nuzzled their noses together gently, looking so in love with the other boy.

“You’re the one who kept telling me to lighten up,” she nudges him with her elbow, sighing softly as she lets the smile fade. She knows how much this meant to him, how much it would offer him. He didn’t deserve another rejection. “It’s not fair, but it’s true. I know how much it sucks,  but you need to hear it.” She knew it was so easy to fall into, let the pain take over and escape everything. She couldn’t let him do what she did so many times before. “You apply for more. Just because one said no, doesn’t mean the next won’t take you. The next one could be better, you could be happier. You deserve that. You can’t stop trying, Bry.” Her head falls against his, “There is one out there waiting for you. I know it.”

“Yeah, but I didn’t expect you to finally take my advice at this point,” Bryan pointed out with a soft chuckle at her elbowing him. He took another deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment and listening to her words. “I know,” he stated softly then, “It’s just so hard when I worked my ass off trying to make sure everything was perfect for that job, and they got my hopes up for so long, just to throw it in my face? I get that they found someone better, but…” He shook his head a little, wrapping his arms around her and just holding on tightly. “I wont’ stop trying. I’ll just… work on getting better. And maybe go out drinking with my best friends in the meantime huh?” he nudged her gently.
