Okay, but AU where the real reason that Monty and Jasper actually got caught and arrested is because Monty and Jasper were trying to replace what they’d taken, but Bryan the lookout wasn’t doing his job and got distracted, but they don’t give up his name because they don’t want him arrested too. So like, when Bryan shows up at Arkadia with Farm Station, he starts trying his hardest to apologize and make it up to them, but there’s just a lot of death glares and resentment from Monty and Jasper. Basically a lot of Bryan going, “LET ME MAKE IT UP TO YOU.” and them going, “THEN GO DIE BRYAN.” and everyone else is just like WTF???? at them, because Monty and Jasper have actually never told another soul that it’s actually all Bryan’s fault that they got caught, because it’s all Bryan’s fault.

Okay, but let’s go with the theory that Bryan made it on the list to survive in the bunker, kept his head down and stayed out of the way and survived all the way to being put into cryo sleep, because LISTEN he could totally just be hiding in the background and you can PRY THIS IDEA FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS.

But they wake up from cryosleep and Jordan is all, “Ah, you were the Bryan in mom and dad’s stories. You were mom’s friend and knew dad from Farm Station, right?” And Bryan like, channels Rafiki from Lion King and is all, “Correction, I know your father.” and Jordan is like, “…kay?” and Bryan is all, “He is immortal. He lives in you. He lives in all of us.” and the others are all like, “Please excuse Bryan, he spent a little too much time in the bunker and he’s pretty much lost his damn mind at this point.” And Bryan’s standing behind them mocking them and making Jordan fight back laughter, and basically give me an Uncle Bryan helping Jordan cause trouble because WE NEED LAUGHTER AND FUN AGAIN.

And also I’m just looking for ways to get Bryan involved and back on this show so sue me, but tbh this sounds hilarious.

Ever since returning from Farm Station and blowing up the hydrogenerator to save Riley and the others instead of bringing it back, things had been difficult. He’d fought with Nathan about it, and had walked off, desperate to try and clear his head and focus on calming down. He knew that he and Nathan had been through such different things, and that they had differing opinions on what to do, even if Bryan couldn’t exactly understand why Nathan thought that way. No matter what though, he loved the older boy.

He hadn’t gone back to Nathan’s room yet; their room? He wasn’t sure at this point if Nathan even wanted him back in there after he’d shrugged the other off and walked away from him like that. Surely though, Nathan realized that he hadn’t meant to push the other away completely; only that he needed to take a breather and take a walk before he started crying. Because, he did feel like crying. He felt like crying over everything that had happened to all of them.

Instead of going back to the room, he took an extra guard shift, despite the muttering from Bellamy telling him to just go talk to Nathan. He was exhausted and it was noticeable; being at Farm Station again had torn him up, and he was more worried that the nightmares that he’d suffered from before were going to come back again. So, instead of going to the common area to sleep, he was going to keep trying to stay guard, to protect those he loved.

It was a long night, and the gun in his hands and the jacket on his body were both starting to feel so heavy. He put the safety on, sitting the gun down and focusing on unzipping his jacket some, just trying to ease the weight on his body, to try and keep himself awake and alert. His head felt so heavy though and he took sharp breaths in to keep from drifting off any, as he heard footsteps headed his way. Thinking it was just Bellamy or someone else coming to check on him, Bryan didn’t turn his head to look.

Then suddenly, there were arms, one around his shoulders, one hooking under his knees, scooping him up bridal style. Bryan froze, eye’s going wide and trying to figure out what was happening, when he realized who it was; who had picked him up and was now carrying him towards the ship to go inside.

Nathan.

“… Nate,” he spoke softly, breathless and surprised by the fact that the older boy was there, and that he was actually carrying him inside and towards their room. It was the soft, loving smile and the quick kiss to his forehead that helped calm him enough to just relax some in the other’s arms. He let his head fall against Nathan’s shoulder, eyes fluttering closed and feeling calm and at peace. Nathan didn’t hate him, and now they could work on things and make sure that everything was alright between them.

After some rest, of course.

Bryan was regretting stepping foot outside of Arkadia’s walls, especially with a war going on. All he’d wanted were some flowers, something nice to bring back and put on the bar to liven up the place a little, if only to make some of the others smile. He was trying so hard to get back to that soft, kind boy he’d been on the ark, instead of the fighter he was having to turn into on the ground. But of course, the fighter had to prevail.

He’d seen the grounder coming, which was the only thing that kept him alive. He’d had time to fight and defend himself, to take down the attacker before he ended up getting killed. But it had been difficult and bloody, and the flowers that he’d wanted to pick had been ruined in the fight. He’d had to head back to Arkadia empty handed, covered instead in blood, and wishing he hadn’t left the camp at all.

Bryan had made his way towards where the water was, needing to clean himself off and report back to the others in the guard what had happened, so at least they would know. But he wanted, needed, to get clean first. He’d stripped his jacket and shirt off with a wince, shoulder hurting from the fight and feeling the blood caked on his face and neck. It made him feel like he was going to get sick, and he closed his eyes for a moment, trying to remember to breathe.

He heard footsteps but didn’t respond at first, thinking it was someone walking by, until the footsteps stopped close by and he heard someone else getting water. Still, he kept his eyes closed, and it was only when the wet cloth touched his face that he jumped and let out a surprised noise, trying to figure out what was going on.

“I’ve got you.”

Relaxing at seeing it was Jasper, he managed a soft smile. He was grateful to see a friendly face, and grateful for the help of trying to wash off, especially with how bad his shoulder hurt. He took a shaky breath, closing his eyes again to let Jasper help wash his face off, hissing a little when the other moved to clean his shoulder.

“I just wanted some flowers…” He mumbled out after a moment, then let out a tiny, sudden laugh, “It’s crazy, isn’t it? I went out there to find flowers, like that even matters anymore. I keep wanting to be that boy from the Ark, and yet, here I am, covered in blood because some idiot grounder decided to attack me. All over flowers.”

It sounded so crazy to his own ears to hear that he’d done it, especially knowing the trouble that was going on around there. “Thank you,” He reached up then to put his hand on Jasper’s arm, opening his eyes and looking up at the other boy, “Really, Jasp. Thank you.” Having someone there to help him was keeping him from the tears that were threatening.

My muse wraps their hands tightly around your muse’s neck.

The bunker was nothing like Bryan had expected. It had been sheer luck it seemed that Kane recognized him as Farm Station and had chose to keep him in the group of skaikru that had been saved. But it wasn’t smooth sailing, and there were constant arguments and scuffles… all of which Bryan stayed clear of. He’d been lucky enough to survive; as much as he was upset with the grounders for what had happened to his people, he was going to have to set that aside if he wanted to live.

It was a struggle, but Bryan was strong. He’d felt so alone at first, but once he started giving the grounders a chance, everything became so much easier. He had people to talk to, people that cared about him, people who would be around him. Maybe living down there wouldn’t be so bad if he stayed out of trouble, he though. Even if he did have to live with seeing the love of his life with someone else. He could survive it.

What was the worse, were the nightmares. They’d been happening ever since he’d reached the ground; Hannah and Iris had helped calm them before they reached Arkadia, and then being with Nathan again had calmed them, but he didn’t know if he could reach out to anyone now while the nightmares were getting worse. Instead, he just curled up in his bunk and tried to get through it.

This nightmare was a recurring one; They were above ground and everyone could see the wave coming. All of those he loved were standing outside the bunker, and one lone faceless male grounder was standing between them and safety. Normally, Bryan woke up in a panic and then managed to go back to sleep. However, this one seemed to be different. This time, the man had come at him, shaking him and trying to hurt him, and Bryan had reached out, trying to fight the man for long enough to get his friends to safety.

“BRYAN!”

The voice startled him awake, scaring him with how pained it seemed and how choked it was. Calypso? She was there in the dream, but it wasn’t the dream her that was responding or doing anything. It pulled him out of the nightmare, making his eyes fly open, trying to figure out what his friend was yelling about and what was happening to her. It was when he was awake that he saw.

His hands were around her throat tightly, the girl struggling and trying to get him to let go of her, face red and trying to breath. Her nails were digging into his wrists to try and get free and she was choking out his name again. Startled and terrified, Bryan quickly released her and scrambled backwards on his bed, running into the wall above it. Wide eyes watched her as she coughed and rubbed at her neck, and he shook, hugging his knees to his chest.

“I’m so sorry,” he choked out, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry, Cal, I didn’t mean to, I didn’t mean to.” She must have been trying to wake him up, he thought, shaking him like the man had been shaking him in the nightmare, and in his effort to protect them in his nightmare, he’d attacked her in his sleep. “I’m so sorry, are you okay?” he asked again, watching her worriedly.

He didn’t move any closer though, afraid she would be angry with him, and he didn’t want to make things worse. He felt awful about hurting his friend, and he bit his lip sharply, unsure how to explain that it was the nightmare.
