I don’t think us escaping is the idea. She looked him up and down. He looked like the last one. Who’d told her she looked like the last one. Pretty clear pattern, then. “Move over here, I can help you with the ties. 

“Well, they’re not getting their idea,” Bryan grumbled out a little. Hearing her offer, he shifted and scooted across the floor closer to her, grateful. “What’s your name?” He asked.

“Don’t bother. The walls are soundproofed and the windows don’t open.”

Bryan had taken a deep breath, ready to let out another scream, but stopped at hearing the girl in the room speak. He huffed, struggling a little in the zipties the man still had him in. “Then how the hell do we escape?” he muttered.

 Train? ” She said laughing, shifting her stance into something like aggressive nonchalance. Do you ever rest, farm boy? She looked him over. You heard about Sterling? She figured. “ It’s fine. It’s been a while. 

Bryan chuckled, offering her a lopsided grin. “Rest? I don’t know what that word means,” He teased playfully, moving his arms to flex a little, laughing then. He nodded his head a little at her words then, adding, “I’ll even go easy on you, you know. I’ll try not to kick your ass too much.” He wanted to distract her, to get her to laugh more, because he was worried about his friend.
