The day had been long and rough. There had been so much work to be done, and a lot of the grounders liked to just leave the work to Bryan to do when they saw him struggling. Probably because of the comments he’d made before, but still; it was a lot to do, and Bryan was exhausted by the end of the day. Grumbling, he headed to find Hektor, needing to just see the boy he was getting close with, and relax some.
Approaching the bunk where the older boy was laying, Bryan cleared his throat a little, watching as Hektor patted the bed them for him to sit down. “Hey,” He whispered out, hating how tiny his voice sounded; but he was stressed and just unsure what to do. He watched the other for a moment, before Hektor put his arm out and motioned for Bryan to join him. There wasn’t a second of hesitation; Bryan quickly moved to lay down on the bunk as well, letting out a shaky breath as an arm was put around him and he was pulled close.
“Thank you,” He whispered faintly, hiding his face in the other’s shoulder.
